Beetroot mousse sundae disguised as an ice cream; tuna and cherry hoisin made to look like a lollipop; and cheesecake with edible chocolate 'soil' and flowers in a plant pot. Jimmy Garcia's pop up, The Secret Garden, has taken this theme to a new level, with surprise hidden through a wooden door found on Clapham Road.
Head through the wooden door, up the stairs through the vines and you'll find an edible adventure awaiting. The cocktails, food and surroundings all match the theme all the way down to the prosecco and elderflower jelly shots. Jimmy's indoor deluxe picnic is a delight from start to end, including the dessert hamper to finish. There's a strong focus on the very best seasonal produce English gardens have to offer at this time of year. The picnic plates included pork, orange and earl grey sliders, smoked salmon scotch eggs and chicken liver & foie gras parfait with onion confit and toasted brioche, to name but a few.
Jimmy and his team are passionate about giving their guests a unique and delicious dining experience at all times, this was no different here. I'll let the photos do the talking. Be sure to make a visit this summer before this gem of a garden disappears this Autumn. (It is at this point we depart from the high saturation, high contrast pictures normally seen across FOULDER. to truly showcase the delightful array of food and drink available in The Secret Garden - Ed.)
